I.A House of Metalware

Founded under 1 Dollar Imports, LLC, KinzaArtware brings the foundry traditions of Moradabad to hospitality groups, interior designers and luxury retailers around the world.

Every piece begins as a wooden pattern, pressed into fine sand, then filled with molten aluminum or brass at over 700°C. The shell is broken open by hand. What emerges is rough, weighted, singular — then turned, chased and polished into objects with presence.

We specialise in oversized formats: urns standing nearly a metre tall, pedestal bowls wide enough to anchor a banquet table, candelabra built for ballrooms. Smaller barware and serveware round out the catalogue, all from the same workshops.

III.Inside the Foundry

Moradabad — the brass city of India.

For four centuries, Moradabad has been the centre of India's cast and beaten brassware trade. Generations of metallurgists, turners and polishers work side by side in courtyard workshops across the old city.

Our pieces are made in those same workshops. No automation, no press-form shortcuts — only fire, sand, hand tools and time.

IV.The Process

From sand
to silver.

  1. Step 0101/06

    Pattern

A wooden or wax master is carved by hand. Every curve, fluted rib and antler handle starts here.

  2. Step 0202/06

    Mould

Fine river sand is packed tightly around the pattern in two-part flasks, then split apart.

  3. Step 0303/06

    Pour

Aluminum or brass is melted in coke furnaces to 700–950°C and ladled into the sand cavity.

  4. Step 0404/06

    Break

Once cooled, the sand is broken open. The raw casting emerges rough, with a feeder still attached.

  5. Step 0505/06

    Turn

The piece is mounted on a lathe and turned by hand to true the form and remove casting flash.

  6. Step 0606/06

    Finish

Polishing, antiquing or buffing to silver, champagne or aged-brass tones. Quality-checked, packed.
